The trade deadline has come and gone. A quiet day for the Blackhawks until the very end. I don't know if there is a single Blackhawks fan that wasn't a little sad to see Wiz leave. He was an up and coming defenseman who was such a presence in the locker room. He always could be counted on to make a joke, pick on a teammate or lighten the mood when need be. He was injured for the first part of the season but once he came back he picked up right where he left off. He always lent a hand when he could, whether painting the ice at the United Center or starting
a clothing line with proceeds benefitting the USO of Illinois. It was obvious that he was a great teammate and very well liked both among his teammates and Hawks fans. This should give a defenseman who is/was in Rockford, such as Niklas Hjalmarsson a chance to break into the NHL. I wish Wiz nothing but the best in Anaheim.
I also want to say that last night I went out to dinner with some of the lovely Sabres bloggers. it was so much fun and if any of them are reading this I want to thank them for including me even though I write about the Blackhawks. I had a wonderful time!

hi Clare! It was great to meet you last night.
And of course we like you "even if you blog about the Blackhawks"- I think we're all closet Patrick Sharp...er.. 'Hawks fans. LOL

It was great to meet you too! And I think it is impossible not to be a Patrick Sharp fan. :)
